Digipak and Magazine Advertisement

Today I edited the magazine advertisement further and I also edited in the new front cover image onto the digipak template. I am going to edit the digipak layout further on my home computer later tonight and Georgia and I are filming our last scenes (the indoor scenes) after college today.

Magazine Advertisment Draft

Today I've been editing the magazine advertisment; playing around with the layout of the ad to see what fits best where and how to make it look professional. This is the latest draft of the magazine advertisment that I've done:

New Digipak Front Cover Image

After getting some audience feedback and taking advice from my teachers Georgia and I decided to change the digipak image layout so that the front cover image promotes the artist more. So I took some more photos of sophie and edited them to make them look like the original image we had of our first girl who was our female lead. So I edited that and then I also edited the magazine advertisement completely as I had to change the background image to the new one of Sophie and I had to, therefore, change the layout. These are my first two drafts:

Dolby

I think the image is better with just the hands on but try lightening it so that the features are more distinctive. Also, it works much better as an image for the inside/back of a CD. Pick an image of the artist for the front as this will promote the singer more and make the advert look less like a film poster.

Today I created a new draft of the magazine advertisement and it looks like this so far:

It's still not quite finished but at the moment I'm just playing around with some different layout ideas.

Digipak Draft

Today I edited some more images and started sorting out the design for the digipak. I mixed a few ideas and, after deciding with Georgia that we were going to change the front cover image, I edited the old front cover image into one of the other photos so that it all links. The images all link to the idea of being rescued...the front cover image suggests getting rescued by love, the inside image shows how some people see freedom as a form of rescue. I put the image of fans behind where the CD will be because I think the artist would see her fans as recue, so when she is in a bad place she looks to her fans for rescue. So this would make the digipack more personal to the artist. I still have yet to get an image for the back of the digipak because the image is on my account at college and I've done most of the digipak working on my laptop at home. So, as soon as I get the chance to, I will add the other image Georgia and I talked about using onto the digipak template. Here is the digipak so far:

Filming Troubles

On the 21st October, I got the slips signed to say we could borrow the school filming camera to film our field scenes. I went home and the school receptionist called my home phone to say that she had got the slips signed by Mr Elsey so I said I could come and collect them. I also asked if Michelle was in because she is the one we had to see to get the film camera and the receptionist said that she would be in until half 5. So I walked back up to school to collect the signed slips and I looked for Michelle but the caretaker said that she had left early so there was no way to get the keys to get the film camera out. So Georgia and I couldn't film over haldf term because we did not have a good quality film camera. Also, we have gone back to our original idea of having Sophie as our lead female because she has agreed to do it and she is available to film after college most days, we changed our lead male role to a different guy called Jon because he takes drama and is happy to play the male role, so we think he will be a believable character.
